NEW YORK, NY – The Columbia Scholastic Press Association announced its top awards for collegiate publications March 14. The NCSU yearbook, the Agromeck, received the organization’s highest award, a Gold Crown. Only three college yearbooks nationwide received the highest award.
This year 1,558 magazines, newspapers, yearbooks and online publications of the current CSPA members were eligible to enter the Crown Awards. Publications were judged on writing/editing, design, content, concept, photography, art and graphics.
John Cooper Elias, a 2009 graduate in communication and now an intern with the Wolfpack Club, was the editor of the 2009 edition, the 107th consecutive edition of the book. Other senior staff members included: Bryant Robbins, design editor and now a junior in business administration; Michele Chandler, photo editor and now a senior in communication; Taylor McCune, assignments editor and 2009 graduate in communication.
