When Tabitha arrived at NC State, she knew what she wanted to do: become an ob-gyn. But one look at the dental chair in the Ghanan hospital and that changed. As part of a service trip to Africa, she organized an oral health program and taught 600 elementary school students how to care for their teeth. But the kids weren’t the only ones learning. Thanks to the experience, the Caldwell Scholar discovered her passion.
