Unofficial transcript
An unofficial transcript is most commonly used in the job search. Download a copy (at no cost) from Registration and Records when you begin your search. Bring a copy with you to interviews; keep it in your portfolio. Make it available to employers upon request.
Official transcript
An official transcript is required for graduate and professional school applications. It is not as commonly used in the job search -- from time to time an employer will request an official transcript. There is no need to have one ready. Request an official transcript (for a small fee) through Registration and Records.
