Changing Majors into the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences:

If you are currently enrolled in a major in another college at NC State or another major within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) and would like to pursue a change in your current major or add an additional major within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) to your academic profile, you should:

  • Review the guidelines below for the department in which you are interested and when appropriate, contact the Undergraduate Coordinator's Office for your intended major directly to schedule an appointment to meet with the Undergraduate Coordinator (or his/her designee). See the website below for a list of CALS departmental undergraduate coordinators and their office locations.
    CALS Undergraduate Coordinators
  • Meet with the Undergraduate Coordinator (or his/her designee) so that he/she can review your academic record to determine if you are admissible to his/her program.
  • Many departments allow students to submit an online application to change to or add a major. You may click the Proceed to Application button on the left to see which departments accept online applications.
Please Note: The Proceed to Application button will only be available during the application windows listed on the left.

As part of the transfer process, it is the responsibility of the student to ask if there are any files that the releasing college/adviser maintains on the student that need to be transferred to the new academic adviser within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
