Center for Research in Mathematics and Science Education
CRMSE at NC State University houses both a pre-college program and the only research and evaluation center within the North Carolina Mathematics and Science Education Network. Established in 1984, CRMSE has formed partnerships with federal, state, local, and private funding agencies to work collaboratively to enhance mathematics and science education. Grants have been obtained from the National Science Foundation, U.S. Office of Education, the Ford Foundation, IBM, Glaxo-Smith-Klein Foundation, NC State Department of Public Instruction, and local education agencies, to introduce changes that incorporate technology and problem solving into the preK-16 curriculum.
Now housed within the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation, the research arm of the NC State University College of Education, CRMSE will play a major role in the evaluation of the impact of the MSEN network overall and will partner with other MSEN sites on program evaluations.
