2011 Winter Vegetable Conference and Trade Show

The Winter Vegetable Conference and Trade Show takes place annually in Asheville, N.C. The event is sponsored by the N.C. Tomato Growers Association (NCTGA), but offers educational opportunities and supports research efforts beneficial to all western North Carolina vegetable growers.

This interactive workshop will take growers through a simulated food safety outbreak scenario related to tomatoes, so they can understand the impacts on the farm and the industry as a whole and begin to plan ways to prepare and protect their farming operations.

Join Dr. Chris Gunter, N.C. State vegetable production specialist, and other tomato experts at N.C. State University for a “virtual tour” of the Tomato Growers Information Portal, a new Web portal designed specifically for N.C. tomato growers and Extension agents.

This conference brings together the southeastern fruit and vegetable industry in Savannah, Georgia. Growers, vendors and suppliers of fresh produce are encouraged to attend this event; the largest educational conference and trade show in the southeastern United States. Educational programs and trade show activities will be held at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center.
