History
The courtyard, which is located between Fox Science Teaching Lab and Kilgore Hall, was dedicated in memory of W. Kerr Scott and Robert W. "Bob" Scott on March 9, 2010. Governor W. Kerr Scott (1896 - 1958} was the 62nd Governor. He is known as the "Champion of Rural North Carolina" for improving services to rural areas of the state. He graduated from North Carolina State College of Agriculture and Engineering in 1917. Governor Robert W. "Bob" Scott {1929 - 2009} was the 67th Governor. During his term, the state's sixteen institutions of higher learning merged into a distinguished consolidated university system. He graduated from North Carolina State College of Agriculture and Engineering of the University of North Carolina in 1952.
