Computing Resources for Faculty and Staff
NC State is focused on technology – and not just in the classroom. At NC State, faculty, students and staff can access nine centrally supported computing labs with 335 PCs and Macs in Windows, Unix and Linux operating environments. Campus wide, more than 100 labs and 3,000 machines are available. Most labs are open 24/7, and faculty and staff can also take advantage of the university’s wireless network. The new Learning Commons at the D.H. Hill Library offers 94 machines, as well as eBoards and a Digital Media Lab. The new Virtual Computing Lab is a remote access service that allows faculty, staff and students to reserve a computer with applications such as Matlab, Maple, SAS, Solidworks, and many others running in various environments, including Linux, Solaris and Windows.
Whether it’s learning how to use a new program, e-mailing a colleague, posting a course online, or managing an administrative database, there are resources to help faculty and staff. Below, find links to all things technology related at NC State.
