Dr. Jeannette Moore serves as Alumni Distinguished Professor and Undergraduate Teaching Coordinator for Transfer Students, Study Abroad, and National Student Exchange in the Department of Animal Science at North Carolina State University. She holds a 10% Extension appointment, and her area of expertise is herbivore nutrition. Dr. Moore is a member of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Courses and Curricula Committee. She has chaired the CALS committee as well as the University Courses and Curricula Committee in the past.
She continues to teach ANS 150 (Intro to Animal Science) and its four lab sections (ANS 151) in spring semesters, and PO 102 (Animal Feeds and Nutrition, formerly ANS 012) in fall semesters. Dr. Moore also co-teaches ANS 408 (Small Ruminant Management) and its labs in fall semesters.
Her professional accomplishments include receiving the NACTA (North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture) Southern Regional Outstanding Teacher Award (2011), the NACTA Teacher Fellow Award (2001), being inducted into the Academy of Outstanding Teachers at N.C. State University (2001), receiving the CALS Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award in 1998, and being named the Outstanding Faculty Member in Animal Science by the students in 1994, 1997, and 2000. She was honored to receive the Alumni Distinguished Undergraduate Professor award and title in 2008 from North Carolina State University and to be recognized by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences as the CALS nominee for the Board of Governors' Award for Excellence in Teaching (2013).
