FACULTY SENATE

Resolution of Appreciation for
Chair Emeritus of the Faculty, George H. Wahl, Jr.

Whereas: Professor George H. Wahl, Jr. was the first Chair of the Faculty of North Carolina State University and was chosen by popular vote of the faculty in a university-wide election; and

Whereas: Professor George H. Wahl, Jr. has been a significant and valuable member of the North Carolina State University Faculty Senate, and served with distinction as Chair-Elect for one year followed by a subsequent two-year term as Chair of the Faculty; and

Whereas: Professor George H. Wahl Jr. has been an enthusiastic advocate for faculty participation in University Governance through strong support of Faculty Senate Committees in the selection of members of university standing committees and in the selection of administrative leaders; and

Whereas: Professor George H. Wahl, Jr. facilitated the faculty’s key role in charting the course for faculty leadership in the General Faculty Meetings of North Carolina State University, and focused on faculty successes in university advancement; and

Whereas: Professor George H. Wahl, Jr. has provided effective and enthusiastic leadership in eloquently representing the faculty at meetings of the North Carolina State University Trustees and at meetings of the University Council; and

Whereas: The General Faculty of North Carolina State University has benefitted from his dedication, his sense of humor, and his distinguished demeanor; therefore be it

Resolved: That the Faculty Senate, on behalf of the North Carolina State University General Faculty express sincere gratitude to Professor George H. Wahl, Jr. for his untiring service to North Carolina State University.
