NORTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY
Resolution of Commendation
Whereas: Kay Yow, head coach of Womens Basketball at NC State University, has distinguished herself as a coach and teacher through twenty-five years of coaching women student athletes at NC State, and
Whereas: Coach Yow has been recognized time and again by her peers in being selected to represent the United States as a coach of its national teams at the World Games and at the Olympics, and
Whereas: Coach Yow has demonstrated long term commitment to the Academic Support Program for student athletes, and constant efforts toward upgrading the academic climate of our Athletics Program, and
Whereas: Coach Yow has been a leader regionally and nationally in the fight against cancer whose efforts have helped all North Carolinians through fund-raising for the Lineberger Cancer Center and the establishment of an annual Run for Breast Cancer which has become a part of the national effort, and
Whereas: Coach Yows success in coaching, in teaching student athletes at NC State and beyond, in generating public awareness about breast cancer, and raising support for cancer research have brought distinction to the University as a whole as well as to herself, therefore be it
Resolved: That the faculty of NC State University commend Coach Kay Yow on her extraordinary contributions to womens athletics, and be it further
Resolved: That the faculty of NC State University offer hearty congratulations to Coach Kay Yow on the occasion of her silver anniversary of coaching Womens Basketball at NC State.
