NORTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY

FACULTY SENATE

 Resolution of Commendation

Whereas: Professor Richard B. Ford, Department of Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine, has distinguished himself as a teacher, administrator, clinician, and researcher over a period of eighteen years at NC State University, and

Whereas: Professor Ford’s teaching and service has been recognized many times through awards voted by his students and peers, citing his creativity, collegiality, exceptional commitment to his students, and ability to represent veterinary medicine to the lay public, and

Whereas: Professor Ford has taught not only his own students but the nation through his popular television show, "Healthy Pets / Healthy People", and

Whereas: Professor Ford has directed his prodigious talents to service of his Country, through his service in the United States Air Force Reserves, while also serving this university, and

Whereas: Professor Ford’s service to the Armed Forces has been of such high quality as to merit his promotion to the rank of Brigadier General and his appointment in the Office of the Surgeon General of the Air Force in The Pentagon, and

Whereas: Professor Ford’s nationally and internationally recognized achievements and his contributions to veterinary medicine and the military have brought distinction to the University as a whole as well as to himself, therefore be it

Resolved: That the faculty of NC State University offers its appreciation to Professor Ford for his extraordinary service to our university and to our country and offers its best wishes as he serves as Special Assistant to the United States Air Force Surgeon General.
