FACULTY SENATE
Resolution On Copyright Regulations
Whereas: the Board of Governors of the University of North Carolina and administration, faculty and staff of North Carolina State University continuously desire to foster a climate of academic creativity and productivity through implementation of the Copyright Use and Ownership Policy of the University of North Carolina; and,
Whereas: the faculty and staff of North Carolina State University desire to recruit, retain and promote successful creators and disseminators of knowledge, research, and service activities within a positive, nurturing environment; and,
Whereas: the faculty and staff of North Carolina State University desire to have equitable treatment in the shared ownership, production, and compensation for intellectual property as a matter of sound University policy; and
Whereas: the faculty and staff of North Carolina State University find the NC State Administrative Regulation for Copyright Implementation of the UNC policy as written serves to alienate faculty and staff and does not foster a climate of academic creativity and productivity, therefore be it
Resolved: that the Faculty Senate urges the administration of NC State University to accept the proposed revisions to the NC State Administrative Regulation for Copyright Implementation Pursuant to Copyright Use and Ownership Policy of the University of North Carolina.
