R4: 2002/2003: Resolution of Commendation (George R. Dixon)

FACULTY SENATE

Resolution of Commendation

Whereas: George R. Dixon, Ed.D., Vice Provost for Enrollment Management and Director of Admissions, has distinguished himself over a period of thirty years of service to North Carolina State University, and

Whereas: Vice Provost Dixon’s service has been recognized time and again by his peers among the Admissions Officers in Higher Education in North Carolina and nationally, citing his extraordinary commitment, outstanding good judgment, fairness and collegiality, and

Whereas: Vice Provost Dixon has developed, led, and managed an efficient admissions program that has steadily increased the diversity and academic quality of the student body,

Whereas: Vice Provost Dixon has represented the University statewide with such talent and effectiveness that NC State enrolls a goodly share of the best high school students the State of North Carolina produces, and

Whereas: Vice Provost Dixon has overseen undergraduate admissions during the time of NC State University’s emergence as a national institution of higher learning and through his efforts in undergraduate recruitment has contributed profoundly to that recognition, therefore be it

Resolved: That the faculty of NC State University commends Vice Provost Dixon on his extraordinary contributions to undergraduate admissions locally and nationally, and be it further

Resolved: That the faculty of NC State University offers its appreciation and best wishes to Vice Provost Dixon as he retires from his service as Vice Provost and Director of Admissions to become Vice Provost Emeritus.
