Resolution to Provide In-State Tuition Waivers For NC State University Employees and Their Families
Whereas: The strength of North Carolina State University lies in the dedication, commitment, training, and morale of its faculty and staff; and
Whereas: Attracting and retaining outstanding faculty and staff is essential for improving the excellence of our programs and for bringing distinction to the university; and
Whereas: Attracting and retaining outstanding faculty and staff requires competitive compensation, benefits, and a family-supportive environment; and
Whereas: Access to quality higher education has become a key issue in the financial stability of families and is a driving factor toward seeking employment with larger compensation and benefit packages; and
Whereas: Numerous public universities throughout the United States, including many of N.C. State’s peers, provide tuition waivers for employees and their families; therefore, be it
Resolved: That N.C. State University institute a program of tuition waiver for its faculty, staff, and their families.
