Resolution to Insert the Office of Parliamentarian
in the Faculty Senate Bylaws
Whereas, a Parliamentarian is an important support to a civil and orderly organization, and
Whereas, the Faculty Senate has had a Parliamentarian for a number of years, and
Whereas, the office of Parliamentarian is mentioned nowhere in the bylaws of the Faculty Senate.
Be It Resolved, that the following policy be placed in the bylaws, immediately upon approval, as
Article VI, Section 7.
“There shall be a Parliamentarian, who serves at the pleasure of the Chair and is not a member of the Senate. The Parliamentarian will be chosen by the Chair, with the approval of the Executive Committee.”
