North Carolina State University IntroductionNew Faculty Orientation is a 3 day event sponsored by the Office of the Provost and administered through the Office of the Provost. These workshops are for all new tenure track faculty who have come to the university since July 1, 2007, and did not attend the 2007 NFO, or who will be new tenure track faculty as of the beginning of our fall semester, 2008. This year's NFO will be held in the Walnut Room of Talley Student Center (map). The purpose of the event is to provide information, skills and resources for faculty to successfully begin teaching, research, and extension and engagement activities at NC State, and to familiarize faculty about NC State and the Raleigh/Wake County area. The program provides opportunities for networking among new faculty members and introductions to university administrators. As well, the Chancellor hosts a reception for new faculty that have participated in New Faculty Orientations. New faculty will have the chance to meet Chancellor Oblinger and Provost Nielsen, as well as Deans and other key administrators. Parking:: If you do not yet have a campus parking permit, you will need to get a visitor parking tag. These are 2$/ day. Visitor permits are not valid in pay lots. If you park in a pay lot, you will be charged the pay lot rate; $1 per hour or $6 per day. The Main Campus Visitor Booth will issue visitor permits and a map to direct visitors to the Coliseum Parking Deck between Dunn and Cates Avenues. This will be the closest parking area to Talley Student Center. The 2008 3-day New Faculty Orientation will be held For questions or for additional information, contact: |
