When Bill Cowher (’79) steps to the stage to deliver NC State commencement address Wednesday morning, he expects memories of his own graduation to flood back as well, giving the Super Bowl-winning coach a personal perspective on the real-world opportunities facing this semester’s graduates.

After entering NC State on an R.O.T.C. scholarship, Andrew Caldwell meandered from major to major as he searched for the perfect fit. With the help of his academic advisors, he decided on biochemistry, which would help satisfy his pre-medical requirements as he continues on a path toward becoming a medical officer in the U.S. Army.
