NC State University has bulked up recreational offerings to its students, faculty and staff with the opening of the 43,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art Carmichael Recreation Center. Located at the south end of the Carmichael Complex on Central Campus, the CRC offers three stories of fitness, cardio, and leisure space in addition to a juice bar, four aerobic studios and more than 10,000 square feet of new cardio and weight training equipment.
The real advantage to the new facility is that it's completely dedicated to recreational use, so members won't have to compete with physical education classes for these resources," says Dawn Sanner, director of Carmichael Gym. "With the new space, we'll be able to expand our group fitness programming, as well as offer services like massage therapists and personal trainers - basically, we'll be able to give our members a state-of-the-art fitness experience."
