OAK RIDGE INSTITUTE FOR SCIENCE AND EDUCATION POSTDOCTORAL PROGRAMS
SPONSORING AGENCY: Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE)
PURPOSE: ORISE administers research participation and fellowship programs for the Department of Energy and other federal agencies. Programs target faculty, postgraduates, graduates, and undergraduates in the fields of science, mathematics, and engineering. ORISE coordinates numerous opportunities for postdoctoral students to participate in a variety of research experiences, including programs at the Savannah River site (see below).

SAVANNAH RIVER SITE: The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Savannah River Site (SRS) in Aiken, South Carolina, offers hands-on research opportunities to students and faculty in science, math, engineering, and technology. Program participants are assigned to individual projects that relate to their academic disciplines, careers goals, and the ongoing research and development missions of SRS. The interaction of ideas, skills, approaches, and technologies are of mutual benefit to the participant, SRS, and DOE. One year appointments with stipends based on research area and degree. Interview and travel reimbursements paid.
