1. What is orientation?

New Graduate Student Orientation is on August 19th, 2014. Located at the NC State McKimmon Center, NGSO will help prepare you to be successful during your first year of graduate school.

2. Is orientation required?

Yes, orientation is required. The event on August 19, 2014 is required, and you are also required to view the resources within the Online Orientation component. Your attendance in online orientation will be tracked and recorded automatically.

3. What is orientation?

The online component includes important videos, links, and other resources. These modules will help to prepare you for a successful first year as an NC State graduate student.

To access online orientation, log into Moodle using your UNITY ID (not your Student ID number; your UNITY ID typically includes your first initial and last name) and password on or after August 20th.

4. Where is Moodle?

Moodle is NC State's online learning management system. Visit the Moodle page here, and log in with your UNITY ID (not your Student ID number; your UNITY ID typically includes your first initial and last name) and your password.

5. What if I can't access Moodle to get to online orientation?

All students should have access to Moodle. If you need help with Moodle, contact the NC State University Help Desk

6. Why should I attend?

Our focus is to help you make your first year successful, and all of the orientation content is developed with that goal in mind. You'll learn how to be successful in graduate school and what resources NC State provides to help you succeed, and there will also be resources about ethics, professional development, how to obtain funding, and much more.

Yes, there is information about PFL in the in-person and the online orientation.

$15 graduate orientation fee + $9 New campus ID card.

9. Where can I get my student ID card?

To get your Wolfpack One student ID card, go to the Wolfpack One Card office during regular business hours:
Monday – Friday from 8 am. – 5 p.m. The office is located in the West Dunn Building, on the corner of Thurman Avenue and Dan Allen Drive on main campus. http://onecard.ncsu.edu/
