Letter of Invitation & Nomination Process
Students, Faculty and Staff,
The University Graduate Student Association and the Graduate School are pleased to announce the Ninth Annual NC State University Graduate Student Research Symposium. The goals of the symposium are to showcase the outstanding quality and diversity of graduate-level research at NC State, in addition to providing students with the opportunity to practice their communication skills with those outside of their discipline. The symposium is also designed to demonstrate the importance of graduate level research to state decision-makers.
The Symposium is intended to spotlight exceptional graduate student researchers. Each Director of Graduate Programs is invited to nominate four graduate students (either master’s or doctoral) to represent their graduate program. Posters will be judged by faculty in the academic areas that are represented at the symposium.
There is not a formal nomination form to complete. Directors of Graduate Programs should e-mail the names and e-mail addresses of their nominees to the attention of Dr. David Shafer, Assistant Dean, at firstname.lastname@example.org by January 16, 2014. We will then contact the students you nominate with further instructions on submitting their abstracts by the February 6th deadline.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Dr. Shafer at the e-mail address listed above, or at (919) 515-4462.
I hope to see you and your students on March 26th.
Rebeca C. Rufty
Interim Dean of the Graduate School
