Fraternities

The Department of Greek Life recognizes undergraduate general or "social" fraternities who engage in a broad spectrum of leadership, service, academic, and social activities. These organizations are open to all students on campus, regardless of academic major. Fraternities recognized by the Department are local chapters of national organizations and each is a member of one of our Greek Councils. This listing of organizations is divided by Greek Council and in alphabetical order.

The Department of Greek Life does not recognize academic or honor organizations who may also use Greek letters for their name. Those organizations may be registered through our Student Organization Resource Center (SORC) on campus.

Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) Interfraternity Council (IFC) National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC)

* = Chapter was found responsible by the Office of Student Conduct for violating one or more elements of the Code of Student Conduct and is currently under disciplinary sanctions.

Unrecognized Organizations

Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity has had recognition from NC State revoked through June 1, 2015. The chapter was suspended as a result of multiple alcohol violations, including infliction or threat of bodily harm and failure to comply. The National Fraternity closed the chapter effective December 11, 2013 so the group should no longer be in operation. The university will work in partnership with the National Organization to re-establish the chapter and membership in the Fall of 2015.

Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity lost recognition from NC State revoked as of July 1, 2014 for failure to comply with IFC Standards and University Rules for Maintaining Recognition from the Department of Greek Life.

Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity has had recognition from NC State revoked through July 29, 2016. The chapter was suspended as a result of multiple alcohol violations, including damage to university property, creating a safety hazard, and disorderly conduct. The university will work in partnership with the National Organization to re-establish the chapter in the Fall of 2016.

Zeta Psi fraternity has been suspended from the university as a result of hazing, alcohol violations, and providing false information to the university. The chapter is no longer a registered student or Greek organization at NC State and is not affiliated in any way with the university. Parents should be concerned if their son is a member or is considering membership.
