NC STATE UNIVERSITY
2008 Emerging Issues Forum

The 2008 IEI Forum -- February 11 & 12

North Carolina is poised to lead the southeastern U.S. in crafting a response to the global energy challenge. More than 1,000 statewide, national and international policy-makers in business, government, nonprofits and higher education gathered at the 2008 IEI Forum to learn how to take advantage of economic development opportunities for the state’s energy future.

For the first time in IEI Forum history, audience members used survey response units to engage in real-time public opinion polling. IEI is using the survey results to further develop the energy and environment program of work.

The IEI Forum, a long-standing signature event in North Carolina, brings diverse leaders from across the nation and around the world to inform, engage and mobilize the state.

Many speakers take advantage of the Forum's audience and choose this venue to make key announcements for their organizations. This year, Governor Mike Easley and Bank of America CEO Ken Lewis did just that. Please visit the Look and Listen area for audio files of speakers’ remarks, video clips and speaker responses to audience questions.

The 2008 Forum is part of the larger program of IEI's work on energy and the environment.
