NC STATE UNIVERSITY

IEI Policy Gallery

A 5,000 square foot policy gallery will anchor the main entrance of the Hunt library and provide an adjacent working space for IEI’s professional offices. This one-of-a-kind space will be the permanent incarnation of Governor Hunt’s extraordinary legacy of vision and leadership in North Carolina.

The gallery will afford all visitors the opportunity to understand the history and future progress of public policy in North Carolina. It will foster an exchange of new ideas and inspire the next generation of leaders to find creative solutions to our public policy challenges.

Moreover, the gallery will be a springboard for information and analysis that underpins IEI’s future work and will showcase the growth and transformation of North Carolina. IEI envisions the interactive tools in the gallery to be supportive, hands-on learning experiences for all visitors and IEI stakeholders. These tools will create a seamless link to IEI’s website and communication platforms.

The gallery will also play an integral role in carrying out IEI’s public policy work and will impact the way we convene leaders to help create solutions to North Carolina’s most pressing policy issues. The content for the space, as for IEI’s programs generally, will be organized around those issue areas that are the indispensable building blocks of our state’s prosperity and well-being:

Economic Performance and Public Finance

Health and Quality of Life

Energy, Infrastructure and the Environment

Education

Economic Development

Hhistory of Progressive Leadership and Policy

To help generate content in these areas, IEI assembled a distinguished group of scholars and policy practitioners – the Scholars Council – who will provide research, writing and review on their respective content areas. IEI believes the gallery will serve the citizens of this state well into the future as we all seek to build on the many successes of the past.
