Programs of Work

North Carolina is poised to lead the southeastern U.S. in crafting a response to the global energy challenge. The Institute for Emerging Issues invites you to join preeminent state, national and international thought leaders as we build a plan for North Carolina's energy future.

The Institute for Emerging Issues' program of work on energy looks to a future built on a new energy economy that provides secure, reliable, affordable and sustainable energy sources while promoting economic development

The Institute for Emerging Issues (IEI) is a think-and-do tank focused on tackling big issues that affect North Carolina's future growth and prosperity. From energy to fiscal modernization to improving our systems of higher education, IEI takes the lead in convening state leaders in business, higher education and government to address these issues early to prepare for future challenges and opportunities.
