Working Groups
Prior to its annual Emerging Issues Forum, IEI convenes working groups to tackle issue-specific challenges identified through extensive research and meetings with issue stakeholders. The goal of the working group process is to produce a set of policy priorities that informs the structure and content of each Forum while establishing a course of action that will contribute to the state's future growth and prosperity.
Starting with a common vision of North Carolina's long-term energy challenges, this year’s working groups produced twenty specific action items with the goal of meeting the following five objectives:
Improve Energy Efficiency in Buildings
Reform the Utility Regulatory Environment
