Growth & Infrastructure Working Group

In continuing with its model public policy process, IEI convened a growth and infrastructure working group in the months leading up to the 2009 Emerging Issues Forum. The Working Group has been working diligently over the last three months to address challenges facing North Carolina’s built infrastructure.

The Working Group was first tasked with identifying the biggest challenges facing our built infrastructure. These challenge statements helped the group determine a set of broad policy directions critical for North Carolina to address if it is to build and maintain resilient built infrastructure that is distributed in a balanced and equitable way.

These broad policy directions, and a menu of specific action items needed to address them, will be vetted by Forum participants to determine a plan action to address North Carolina's infrastructure challenges.
