 Open House - October 17, 2009 10:00am to 2:00pm

 Visit Raleigh

The many activities taking place during the 2009 Open House can be over-whelming. As such, it may be beneficial to plan your day prior to arriving on campus on October 17. To maximize your campus visit experience, there are several recommended activities, which include visiting the booths/displays for various departments on campus. These displays will be manned by faculty staff and students who will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Attending an undergraduate admissions information session and taking a student-led campus tour or Centennial Campus bus tour are also highly recommended activities. There will also be several special interest information sessions, which will be conducted by individual academic colleges/departments and other special interest programs.

Upon your arrival to campus you should obtain a copy of the 2009 Open House program. Please keep your program close, as it will assist you with navigating your way around campus. Your program will also provide a schedule of events that will help you make the most of your day.

Dining: For those interested in eating on or around campus, a number of dining options are conveniently located in close proximity to Open House activities. We recommend bringing cash, as some options may be unable to accept bank or debit cards.

Shopping: For those interested in purchasing official North Carolina State University merchandise, the University Bookstore will be operating on its normal business schedule. There are also several unique shops along Hillsborough Street and in nearby Cameron Village Shopping Center both of which are either within walking distance or a very short drive from main campus. Cary Town Center and Crabtree Valley mall are two larger shopping areas that offer additional shopping and dining options.

Additional Suggestions: Other areas of interest include the Wendell Murphy Athletic Center and Carter Finley Stadium (home to Wolfpack Football), Doak Softball complex and the RBC Center which not only hosts NC State Men’s Basketball, but also the Carolina Hurricanes professional hockey team. Please be mindful that the North Carolina State Fair, another entertainment option, will be in town and traffic may be congested.
