The University Open House is a great way to learn information about the wide variety of resources afforded to students at North Carolina State University. You should expect many campus representatives to be on hand to answer both general and specific questions about academic programs, admissions requirements, student support services, campus organizations and more.
There is no formal event program. Feel free to drop in at any time between 10 AM and 2 PM to acquire the information you need to make an informed decision about NC State. There will information booths set up in both Carmichael Gymnasium and Talley Student Center. Information regarding the layout of the information booths can be found here.
Several academic departments will conduct information sessions for prospective students. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will also hold information sessions in Stewart Theatre throughout the day. Stewart Theatre is located on the second floor of the Talley Student Center. There will also be an information session conducted in Spanish as well as a transfer information session. Feel free to view the schedule for a full list of information sessions, times and locations.
Walking tours of main campus will be conducted throughout the day. These student-led tours will last approximately 30-minutes. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing and shoes in order to maximize your tour experience. A sample residence hall room will be available for prospective families. Bus tours of Centennial Campus will also be available.
A number of student organizations will be on hand to greet campus visitors. Several musical ensembles (dance, vocal and instrumental) will also perform throughout the day. A list of groups performing can be accessed via the open house schedule.
