common questions

 Open House - October 17, 2009 10:00am to 2:00pm

Do I have to stay the entire time?

There is no set program for the University Open House.  Therefore it is not necessary to stay for the duration of the event.  We recommend glancing at the schedule and list of activities associated with Open House and planning your day accordingly.

What should I wear?

The majority of the activities will take place indoors, however we are expecting a large number of visitors.  We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and shoes.  This is especially important if you are planning to take a campus tour.

How long is the campus tour?

The campus tour for Open House is designed to be 30-minutes in length.  We recommend budgeting 45 minutes to allow for questions and viewing the residence hall demo room.

Will I be able to see a dorm room while on campus?

In the interest of time the residence hall demonstration room will not be shown as a formal part of the campus tour, however the demonstration room will be made available for prospective families who wish to visit the room on their own.

Where can I park?

Please see our campus map [PDF] for parking instructions. Because of heavy traffic, guests will have 3 possible parking locations. The Coliseum Deck area, Dan Allen Deck, and West Lot. Please follow directional signs and watch out for traffic delays.

Do I need to register?

To register for Open House you will need to create an account on WolfPAW, your Personal Admissions Website.  Registration will become available after September 1.

What can I eat?

For those interested in eating on or around campus, a number of dining options are conveniently located in close proximity to Open House activities. We recommend bringing cash, as some options may be unable to accept bank or debit cards.

I applied online, is it okay to bring my transcript with me to campus and drop it off?

Due to the large volume of visitors we are expecting, admissions officers will be unable to accept any application materials before, during or after the Open House.  Applicants are strongly encouraged to mail supporting documents to the Admissions Office directly.

I am planning to attend the transfer information session. Will I be able to have my transcripts reviewed/evaluated?

The transfer information session will provide general information regarding the transfer process.  While specific questions are encouraged, we will be unable to review or evaluate transcripts for potential credit and/or admissibility.

I am arriving from out of town and need to make hotel reservations.  Can you recommend hotels in the area?

Please visit our accommodations page for details regarding area hotels.
