The Development Committee has the
following delegated responsibilities:
1. Policy Development
1.1 Upon the recommendation of
the Chancellor, to recommend to the Board of Trustees the adoption of policies
related to the relationship between the University and various affiliated
foundations and the coordination of all fundraising activities intended to
benefit the University.
1.2 Upon the recommendation of
the Chancellor, to recommend to the Board of Trustees the adoption of policies
including but not limited to such matters as the conduct of fundraising campaigns,
and the use and application of privately donated funds for any activity whose
sponsorship may implicate or obligate the University.
1.3 Upon the recommendation of
the Chancellor, to recommend to the Board of Trustees the adoption of policies
regarding fund raising activities intended to benefit the Endowment Fund and
various affiliated foundations.
1.4 Recommends naming guidelines
for Chairs, professorships, fellowships, scholarships, and buildings, facilities
and other projects funded in whole or in part by private monies.
2. Development Activities
2.1 Assists the Chancellor, the
Vice Chancellor for University Advancement and the Development staff in the
solicitation of gifts and grants and other activities in connection with annual
and other continuing development activities.
2.2 Approves all NC State capital
and other major fundraising campaigns.
2.3 Advises the Chancellor and
the Vice Chancellor for University Advancement on the formation of Campaign
Steering Committees.
2.4 Advises the Chancellor and
Vice Chancellor for University Advancement on the priority, timing, direction,
funding and management of capital and other fund raising campaigns.
3. Miscellaneous
To recommend to the Board of Trustees
for its approval the naming of all facilities owned, operated or controlled
by North Carolina State University.
