Like rolling stones, start-up companies gather momentum on NC State's campus and head off to their greater destiny.
Biolex, spun out of NC State in 1997, is in Phase 2 clinical trials of its lead product and raising millions in venture capital. Cree is based on research conducted at NC State. Just two examples of the more than 70 spin-offs that have created thousands of jobs.
