Entrepreneur programs pay off big for NC State grads
A college degree increases your lifetime income potential by at least a million dollars – maybe more if you go to college in a more entrepreneurial environment. Through programs like the Engineering Entrepreneurs Program (EEP), NC State University encourages entrepreneurial thinking. More than 300 students have completed EEP, working in teams to turn creative concepts into marketable products.
An alumnus from the first EEP class, retired from Red Hat as a millionaire at age 27. Two former students became partners and created DaVinci Systems — one of the world’s leading e-mail products — at a time when NC State was emerging as a power in information technology. They later sold the company for $6.65 million. One of the partners went on to found Accipter, which he later sold for more than $50 million. Ever heard of AuctionRover.com? That was the brainstorm of an EEP grad. Sold for $166 million.
You’ll find entrepreneurial thought – and programs – all across the NC State campus. What’s it worth to you to take a look?
