Parental Access

In compliance with FERPA, the parental access menu item in MyPack Portal, the online student services system, will allow the student to identify up to 3 people who may be allowed to access his or her transcript or financial records.

Instructions for the student to grant parental access in MyPack Portal:

  1. Go to the Registrar's Homepage and click on MyPack Portal.
  2. Login with your Unity ID and password.
  3. Click on Personal Info in the MyPack Portal menu.
  4. Click on "Parent Access" in the menu list.
  5. Please enter the names of the people you would like to have access to your records.
  6. Indicate which records should be released. Check the Transcript box to allow Registration and Records to release your transcript information. Check the Financial box to allow the University Cashier's Office, the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid and Communications Technologies to release your financial information.
  7. Assign an access code. Each person will be required to provide an access code when they request your transcript and/or financial information. You may also provide a hint to remind this person of their access code. For example, if you grant access to your father, you might set his access code to your mother's birthday. In this case you might provide the following hint: Mom's Birthday MMDDYY.
  8. Grant your consent by clicking on the Grant Consent button.

Registration and Records also provides a tutorial for students showing them how to grant parental access.
