This section will explain how to disable Windows Firewall.  To see additional information, go back to the Main Windows Firewall page.

Click on your Start Menu, then click Control Panel (note: if you do not see Control Panel as an option in your start menu, look for Settings, then click Control Panel)

Now click Security Center in the window that appeared

Now click Windows Firewall, appearing beneath 'Manage security settings for'

You should now see this window:

If you would like to disable windows firewall, click the circle to the left of Off and then click OK to exit, and you are done. However, if you do not wish to turn windows firewall off, but rather wish to configure your firewall to work with a certain program, see this tutorial.
