North Carolina State University’s student publications have been serving the campus and surrounding community for more than 100 years. The University is situated in the heart of Raleigh, the capital city of North Carolina, and is near the communities of Cary, Durham and Chapel Hill. The surrounding area is home to 1.2 million people out of North Carolina’s approximately 8 million residents.

N.C. State is the largest university in the state, home to nearly 30,000 students, and is the second largest employer in Wake County, employing almost 7,000 faculty and staff members. The majority of students at NCSU are in-state students (26,012) but we also have 2,364 out-of-state students, representing all 50 states, and 1,581 international students from more than 100 nations.

Each of the media are run exclusively by students. The Technician is funded almost solely through advertising monies. WKNC, Agromeck and the Nubian Message are funded through sponsorships and advertising monies but also receive a significant amount of student fee money.
