Media win SCJ awards

The national Society for Collegiate Journalists announced results of the individual and media winners in that organization’s national contest. NCSU media outlets, including the Technician, Agromeck and WKNC had individuals who received awards. The Agromeck yearbook received the top award for overall excellence. Collins named SCJ adviser of the year

Martha Collins, adviser to the NCSU chapter of the Society for Collegiate Journalists, was named the SCJ Sheridan C. Barker Adviser of the Year at the association’s national convention held at NCSU March 5-7.

SCJ announce individual, publication awards

The national Society for Collegiate Journalists released the names of the national individual and publication award winners. NCSU media and staff member won 20 awards, including nine first-place awards. NCSU swept the newspaper feature writing category with stories by Kathleen Gordon and Alison Harmon.
