WKNC to hold benefit concert Feb. 2
WKNC 88.1 will hold its fourth annual Double Barrel Benefit Friday, Feb. 2 and Saturday, Feb. 3 at King’s Barcade in Raleigh.

WKNC concert named ‘favorite’
WKNC’s third annual Double Barrel Benefit, which took place in February, was named byIndependent Weekly as one of its favorite shows of 2006.
In the “Rock and Roll Quarterly” issue, writer Grayson Currin characterized the concert as something “actually causing college students to come downtown.”

WKNC to host birthday bash Nov. 10-11
WKNC 88.1 FM will be hosting a 40th birthday bash Nov. 10-11. On Friday, the bands Doco and SNMNMNM at Kulture in downtown Raleigh will be the attraction for the celebration. WKNC staff raise money for Habitat for Humanity
WKNC 88.1 FM was one of 16 North Carolina State University organizations that raised money for the N.C. State chapter of Habitat for Humanity by participating in the annual Shack-a-thon. Groups constructed shacks out of wood and other materials and spent the week living on the campus’s brickyard to raise money and awareness for Habitat.
