A majority of the UNC system schools came together yesterday at the state Capitol to discuss the tuition freeze for the next academic year. Despite a rainy start, Students’ Day at the Capitol was an overall success. It was evident that students’ spirits were not dampened as they demonstrated their approval of the proposed tuition freeze.

The Wolfpack, coming off an impressive win over Duke, must now calm its celebration and prepare for a “Super Sunday” showdown with North Carolina at the RBC Center. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.

Batman and Robin they aren’t. But Julius Hodge and Josh Powell performed at super-hero levels Sunday afternoon against North Carolina. The pair made jumpshots, scored layups and hit the board to lead the Wolfpack to its third straight victory over the Tar Heels.

While N.C. State was integrated only 50 years ago, over the years it has changed significantly as it continues to strive to build an equal community and opportunity for black students. The number of black students has risen drastically since 1953, and students have spread out into many different fields of education that were not available to them before the 1950s.

As any college students can attest, internships are a key asset to the undergraduate experience. Internships allow students to get their feet wet, establish connections for future career or academic endeavors and even help them figure out if they really know what they want to do with their lives.
