Breaking news.....

 

On Thursday January 7, 2010 the New Jersey state senate rejected the same-sex marriage bill in a vote of 20-14. The state of NJ already permits civil unions and opponents won out with their talk of "damage to religious freedom".


Other news.........

  • Right after the new year President Barack Obama appointed the first transgender woman to a senior government role as the technical advisor at the Commerce Department in the Bureau of Industry of Security.
  • Portugal, one of Europe's most socially conservative countries, is expected to approve, with no opposition, the legalization of same-sex marriage on Friday.
  • Gay marriage became legal on January 1st in New Hampshire.
  • The city of Houston TX swore in their new mayor, Annise Parker, on Monday January 4th. Annise Parker is an out lesbian.
