Jury Duty
There are several criteria to be qualified to serve on a jury in North Carolina:
- You must be a citizen of the United States and a resident of North Carolina.
- You must be a resident of the county where you have been called to Jury Duty.
- You must be physically and mentally competent.
- You must be able to hear and understand the English language.
- You must not have been convicted of or plead guilty to a felony unless your citizenship rights have been restored.
- You must not have served on a jury in the proceeding two years.
To be excused from Jury Duty requires the approval of the court.
