Psychometrics
The psychometrics of the Perceptions of Success Inventory for Beginning Teachers (PSI-BT) has been assessed in 2007 with a sample of 439 beginning teachers from across the state of North Carolina.
A confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) found that the PSI-BT is comprised of nine factors. A tenth factor, Assessment and Evaluation, has been added to this version of the PSI-BT to provide school systems further information on this critical component of beginning teacher's perceptions of success. The CFA found fit indices to support the nine factor structure. The fit indices are as follows:
