ABOUT DUAP

Planning & Assessment Services

In a University as large and diversified as NC State, DUAP plays an important role in unifying colleges and departments who have common goals and facilitating the sharing of information and best practices across disciplines. In some cases, this task is accomplished via Policy Committees. In other cases, DUAP offers NC State's colleges, departments and academic programs consultative services that help these areas design up-to-date curricula, identify needed courses or directions, coordinate or craft relevant academic policies and procedures, and assess their success in meeting the needs of today's students. In line with this, DUAP holds primary administrative responsibility at NC State for supporting undergraduate academic program review across all colleges. Our efforts help departments and individual academic programs better understand and define what quality and excellence in undergraduate education means when it comes to their specific discipline. We also provide the mechanisms for measuring and identifying their success, then reporting it to accrediting bodies.

All of our planning and assessment services promote excellence in education and enrich the overall undergraduate experience at NC State.
