Wolf TV is N.C. State’s first student-produced television channel. Currently operated as a part of the Technician student newspaper, Wolf TV’s mission is to provide a variety of high-quality programming primarily by and for the students at North Carolina State University and supplement the newspaper with instantaneous, broadcast coverage. Wolf TV will give students interested in broadcast media hands-on experience in creating new, informative and entertaining programming online and through a campus cable outlet. Students will have the final say over content and will uphold the highest standards of journalistic ethics.
History
Wolf TV was started as a campus movie channel under the auspices of Communication Technologies Media and Student Services and supervised by B.J. Attarian. The decision to change the format from a movie channel to a student-produced content channel led to the formation of a Wolf TV student organization. Wolf TV’s first broadcast on campus channel 87 was April 17, 2007. The channel later moved to 105 and is now available on channel 79. Wolf TV became part of NCSU Student Media in 2009.
