NCWRA Student Poster Contest

WRRI Annual Conference, October 8-9, 2008

Undergraduate and Graduate Students are encouraged to submit water-related abstracts for poster presentations. The North Carolina Water Resources Association (http://www.ncsu.edu/ncwra/) is sponsoring a Student Poster Contest during the WRRI Annual Conference, October 8-9, 2008, at the McKimmon Center. Outstanding student posters will be recognized at the NCWRA Symposium Luncheon on October 9th. First place will receive $300, second place will receive $200 and third place will receive $100.

How do I submit a poster abstract?

  1. First read over the informaton here: http://www.ncsu.edu/wrri/conference/cfa.html.
  2. Take a look at the Abstract Guidelines
  3. Submit your abstract using the On-line Submission Form
  4. When you are making your poster look over the NCWRA Student Poster Judging Criteria. You may find it helpful as you put together your poster.

What is the deadline for submitting a poster abstracts?

EXTENDED to Wednesday, October 1, 2008

What topics are you accepting abstracts for?

  • Water conservation
  • Drought management
  • Water availability, use and climate interaction
  • Water reuse
  • Drinking water management
  • Wastewater management
  • Socio-economic and institutional factors
  • Erosion and sedimentation control
  • Stormwater management
  • Water quality and ecosystem function
  • Groundwater issues
  • Other water-related topics

How will I know if my poster is accepted? All poster presenters will be notified by email of the status of their abstract submission soon after it is submitted.

How do I register? If your poster is accepted, your registration fee will be waived. You will be able to attend both days of the Annual Conference and NCWRA Symposium and eat two FREE lunches. However, you will need to fill out a registration form and turn it in to WRRI.
