A Brief Update

On Monday, Oct. 7, the university received a copy of a letter that the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) sent to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) requesting assistance in its ongoing Health Hazard Evaluation (HHE) involving Poe Hall. We want to clarify that the letter does not refer to or start a new “investigation” or evaluation. It is, however, part of NIOSH’s ongoing HHE that began earlier this year at NC State’s request and has been ongoing since February. As indicated in the letter, NC State provided data requested by NIOSH related to Poe Hall. The university will continue to provide NIOSH with any additional information as requested as part of the HHE.
